I personally voted for Ron Paul, but if I felt my only choices were Obama or McCain, like the mass media wanted me to believe... I would have chosen Obama, so Im glad it wasnt McCain. That being said, so far Obama has made some pretty scary decisions, and a couple that I like... so I thought I would mention a few talking points for people to discuss.
What has Obama done that you have liked? Is there something you expect he will do in the future which you like?
What has Obama done that you have disliked? Do you think Obama is headed down a path you disagree with?
Ok so me first...
1) I like the fact that Obama has reversed the ban on federal funding of abortions... However my girlfriend brought up the fact that programs like "planned parenthood" who she believes gets Federal funding has offered "free" abortions for a very long time. So does this really make any difference? *research needed*
2) I am definitely worried that Obama has put Monsanto's buddy, former Iowa Governor Vilsack, for head of USDA (department of agriculture). Its like putting a pedophile in charge of a daycare. Monsanto has done probably the most damage to small farms than any other 'thing'. They are not just the Walmart of seed and food supply, they also force their genetic experiments on the mass population which has been proven to be deadly in more than one study.

*Vilsack is an ardent support of corn and soy based biofuels, which use as much or more fossil energy to produce them as they generate, while driving up world food prices and literally starving the poor.
3) I am worried that he put Rahm Emanuel who is nicknamed "'Israel's man" in White House as chief of staff no less! This position is considered "2nd most powerful position" in the US cabinet/administration. This man who is a citizen of Israel, will be the vital component in deciding how to handle peace in the middle east? This man even was in the Israel armed forces (volunteer). Something tells me he will not offer an unbiased view, and his plans will surely favor Israel... although that is nothing new, its just now much more obvious. Conflict of interest?

4) I like that he will be closing down that god forsaken prison "GITMO", however I am concerned that the focus is on closing a facility more than it is on reforming the practices that took place there. The place was not haunted or built on an indian burial ground, it wasnt a bad building or poor design that caused the torture... so closing the facilities and shipping off the prisoners to another to continue their torture and false imprisonment without trial... real does help does it? Hopefully he does something with the prisoners to either convict them, or clear their names, and then prevents the torture and cruel treatment from continuing in ANY facility that we control.
5) The fact that Obama thinks you can just print more money out of thin air and push it into the economy, and it will help us financially... makes me worry. This is Bush's approach, and in fact if you think of the current "economic crisis" which even resulted in my own layoff, it all stemmed from one day. Im not talking about the economic problems, no those have existed since 1913, and definitely for the past couple decades... they have just been "ignored" and "covered up". What I am referring to is the current "scare", the current "fear mongering" of the coming financial collapse, which in itself is CREATING a financial collapse. The news came out on television announcing that some vital information will be in the next Bush speech and readied the public. Obama himself and McCain both announced they may suspend the campaign trail temporarily because of the "crisis". Finally they all met behind closed doors and announced they all agreed with Bush and that we need a bailout or we will all die of scurvy or something... So what happens? well.... the only reason the economy was doing fine was the lie... the false comfort and illusion that the dollar was worth something...
When the President himself, Obama, and McCain all come out announcing that the dollar is falling quickly, they basically attacked the source and value of the dollar... the confidence that made it have value... If this was Osama Bin Laden, this would have been considered a terrible terrorist attack on the US economy... however it was our own administration, and Obama and McCain... basically showing, no matter who is in office, they will all think the same and the bailout would have occurred... now the taxpayers will pay for the inflation, and the government owns parts of the private companies.. .In Fact GMC which received money now has guidelines which dictate that their union workers CANNOT STRIKE, or the government will demand all the money back, and the company will close, everyone unemployed... basically holding them ransom, denying them of their rights... The wonders of federally owned companies... next thing you know, these homeowners will pay their mortgage to the fed and if they dont, they go to prison for not paying their mortgage... like they didnt pay their taxes or some shit... but I digress...
Obama agreeing with Bush publically is bad enough, but to agree on the bailouts for these large corporations who grew TOO large TOO fast? They could not continue the growth and inevitably needed to cut back.. You cant make a million cars a month when the roads are filled! so they can avoid the cutback with a bailout and just continue to run a company that is too large? Layoffs need to happen! I was recently laid off, thats life.. Im working again! Thats how it goes! Specifically in the tech industry! your product is obsolete in 5 years! its how the economy runs... so this current "trend" is only because of confidence, and natural; economic ups and downs... the only thing that screws this all up is when you bailout the large companies.. .now the ups and downs apparently will only effect the small companies... the large ones will absorb it, or get federal help to do so.. to weather the storm while everyone drowns...
So number 5 is way too large, but since I ranted, Ill leave it for people to read.
Please add your own stuff! I had more, but I type as fast as I talk, and I always seem to talk too much... so Ill save your eyes some strain and leave the forum for he next guy!
