HAHA NO, the reason some black people call other people black people nigger is because they are either ignorant themselves, or really think that way about other black people HAHA!

Actually, if an actor or someone wants to call someone a faggot, that's ignorant but I don't see it as a reason to fire them. People are too fucking thin skinned these days. However, lets go with that scenario as an example. Do gay people have an entire genre of music and a culture in which they go around calling one another faggot every ten seconds? Nope, we know the word is a bad word and we don't call each other that word. See the difference? I don't call my partner faggot, he'd hit me if I did and vise versa. We haven't developed a whole culture where we sling insults at ourselves to try to make non gays feel uncomfortable.  As far as I can tell, that's the main reason black folks call each other nigger and use the word all the time, to make white people feel uncomfortable.

I don't say the word faggot, because I AM not a bigoted asshole, and it is a way of describing an entire group of people in a negative way and marginalizing them, I also don't use it because I don't want to hurt your feelings, but then again, I also don't call you a lot of things for that same reason.

I really fucking hate the fact people like yourself really think that it has everything to do with being PC, and less to do with simply having self respect.

The actor should have gotten fired, in fact, I am not so sure, 7 years was a long enough exile, but meh whatever, not my show not my call, never watched the show anyways.

The point is Argent it isn't a god damn fade, you don't win brownie points, and you don't do something because everybody else does or doesn't do something.

Treating people with respect is something I like to do, because I like to get it, Trust is Earned, Respect shouldn't be. Respect is a key that can open up more doors and make life a lot more fulfilling than always being right.

As far as what you call an entire group, black, African american, Susan whatever they want as long as they pay taxes and obey the law, why should YOU or anybody else care what they want to be called.

And honestly if someone like Roy called me Colored, and spoke with the same respect I extend to him, I am not going to  get offended, I probably wouldn't even correct him even though I don't like the word.

I guess my last best way to explain it is inflection mannerisms, like someone calling you SIR!

Some want you to call them by their last name unless they know you, some do not, but You and I both know the difference between someone saying SIR when they really mean to call me an ASSHOLE, and someone saying SIR, in another mannerism, perhaps distancing themselves from you in a uncomfortable situations, sometimes it's to elevate you in status because they want to sell you something.

SIR can mean different things in certain context too.

Paula was trying to be "with it", she used it in the same context as a rapper or the girl in the video on this site used it. If it's okay for a black person to use it in that context it's okay for everyone else to do it. Otherwise there's a double standard and it's wrong.

An example, Roy always refers to black people as "colored", I've told him not to do that because it's not appropriate and in today's society it's considered racist to use that word. However, Roy is 82 years old and when he was growing up "colored" WAS the right word to use. People didn't call black people black, black people didn't call themselves black, they called themselves colored, it was THE WORD to use. Over the years the black community has changed what's acceptable to use to refer to them many times, negro, colored, black, African American (my favorite stupid PC term by far, I'll never use it with a straight face) etc. Hell, some prefer to be called chocolate. WTF? We whities are getting tired of you darkies not being able to make up your minds, so forgive us if when we hear you calling each other nigger all the time we get confused and think it's now acceptable or something. :)

What's next, charcoal? Coffee? Rotten banana? Street colored? What? Where does the madness end? Because ya know, here's a secret you may not have been told about but, shhh, you're not actually black, you're various shades of brown. Some of you are fucking BLUE! I know, weird huh? How about we just call you guys colored again, it makes sense. But here's the trick to it, we're colored too, because we're beige and that's a color and when we're cold we turn blue, if we're out in the sun too long we turn red, we turn green when we're sick and sometimes yellow if we're jaundiced and I won't even get into all the colors those of us who are tattooed are. I'm a fucking rainbow, so lets all be colored! Unless we're from the UK, in that case we'd' have to be coloured and all our spell checkers will freak out.

The Faggot is just as sensitive of a word as Kike, or Nigger, in art and even IN entertainment would and could get anybody in a shit load of trouble for being said, However if I said that to someone who worked for me, I not only can I be sued, I could actually lose very valuable business connections.

Why shouldn't I?

It isn't an issue in my view about freedom of speech, it is about language and the things you say having social and real life consequences.

Again context, I am not disagreeing with your protest, but the idea that music is any more of a blue print for behavior than The Terminator is kind of silly.

The video Uploaded didn't have the word Nigga or Nigger in it, but again it is an image concern, much like how people have been getting fired for post made on Facebook at a job, or employers check Facebook before they hire.

Dr Dre in any video I seen him in has used the word Nigga in reference to someone else who is also BLACK, Paula Dean is being imagined to have said the word Nigger to someone who was in her in employ a derogatory statement made about someone who's actually livelihood she directly effects.

But, does Apple want to get involved with buying a product associated with a person who uses the word nigger in his music all the time? Why wouldn't Apple approach this the same was the network approached Paula Dean's ue of the word? See what I'm saying here? Dr. Dre uses the word and Apple sees no problem with buying his headphones, Paula Dean uses the word and she gets fired, double standard, not right.

You have a point and likely several, who am I to say otherwise, I am not you, and in my responses, I in no way mean to invalidate you or your experiences, I hate when it is done to me or anybody, so if I have done that to you, I like to know.

Yeah well I don't care what color, nobody should have to be the brunt of anybody else's jokes without them having the right to respond, Personally, I saw the video and I laughed and thought 'This is a complete waste of time and moves on" Not only is the word Nigga or Nigger stupid, the whole god damn context of the video if fucking dumb as shit.

As for racism, I rather laugh at it, than cry that it stupid and still exist, satire, self reflection and review are good, no matter how it is done even if i prefer some methods over others.

Really sad when people take art and expression as inspiration to do something stupid, but meh, Paula Dean got fired I think more likely because of the Image sponsors wanted to avoid, rather than it being about simply what she said, same as now Dr Dre and the Beats By Dre being sold to Apple being in jeopardy for the fact he and friends uploaded a YouTube celebrating it.

Similar to any other PR like Disney Kids being required to say they are all virgins LOL!
