I was watching some '80s vintage videos online and began to think about how human emotions are treated in this culture circa 2009... Doesn't it strike you as odd that music has replaced thought-provoking lyrics and the striking emotional outcries of yesteryear with annoying "club slut" yammering and that god-awful "diva" shit where the person goes up-and-down the fucking scale to show off? ["Ooooooooh saaaaaaaaayuuuuuuhaaaaaauuuuhhhhhhhh caaaan UUUUUUUUUU Seeeeeeeeeeeeuh, Byeeeeeee the dawwwns earleeee Liiiiiiiiiiyiiiiiiiiiieyiiight?" <----------------- Yeah, THAT SHIT]

Some of those songs can still evoke emotions, testament to how incredible the talent was... "Talent", for those of you who listen to the crap on today, is where a performer writes the WHOLE song instead of taking someone else's hit song from 20 years ago and "improving" it by screaming the lyrics over some overblown bootie-bass abomination of the original instrumentals**. Once upon a time, people would sit and come up with mind-twisting songs, then use the archaic technology at hand in that era to create masterpieces which still resonate today, replete with sorrow and joy, ecstasy and heartache, some which made you delve into your mind and contemplate complex subjects while others merely made you want to move... It's lost. We have a generation of arrogant assholes who use the superior technology of today's music world to create inane drivel...

Half the time I hear of some "big-name star" and think to myself "Who the FUCK is that?". They get changed out quicker than most people change socks! The industry is throwing anything they can against the wall, hoping something sticks, because they know what they have is SHIT compared to what they discarded years ago. Music pretty much died out about the time Ricky Martin came out and sang "La Vida Loca" from my perspective, because after that it was all about the fucking nouveau riche "bling" game and partying like it's 1999... Of course back then it almost WAS 1999 but neverthess... At that point, emotions and substance were drummed out in favor of wide-scale appeal and marketability. The entire world became a toned-down Martha Stewart beige shitfest and suddenly being anything other than a bland, unimaginative Prozac-Pickled Zombie was verboten.

Society became all became limp, flaccid, and impotent. That scary 'Goth" thing that those-weird-people-who-always-wore-black did was forcibly displaced in the society by the more effeminate, commercialized, and emasculated "Emo" thing [FYI - Emo is the confused little boi standing at the corner of Evil and hoMO], people actually started talking about how much Nickleback "Rocked" [as if], and real rap was replaced by Eminem and "fiddy" talking shit about being up in da club and blingin'. The good music ran off and hid, and I don't blame it.

I might as well just accept the fact that I am always going to be lagging behind on "what's hot" from this point onward. You can find me at the discount bin, picking the real gems from amongst the rabble.
