That which is... That which could be...

I feel that humankind is at a crossroads, one where we will either evolve as a species into something higher than mere humans or we will devolve into a dark ages from which this species will never emerge...

Technology has much potential to help bring about great things for our species - High-speed internet makes communications easier than ever, the possibility of improved energy production capability, myriad improvements in our world that make expression of creativity and personality possible in ways unimaginable to previous generations, and the many other benefits... Yet here we are as a species, watching as this same technology is used by those who desire power and control to bind us, rape us of our birthrights, and limit us to the point where we are essentially walking dead, unable to express ourselves or be anything other than disposable neo-slaves for their production lines.

I feel a fever pitch beginning to build as the pressure by the control-mongers upon the people starts to cause stresses in everyone... Mankind is not meant to live underneath the leering gaze of a thousand electronic eyes, nor is he meant to moderate his speech or actions out of fear of a hidden ear whispering his words back to some shadowy fuck in a bunker somewhere, and as those horrors become ever more prevalent the feel of the iron fist around one's neck once again causes the life-giving oxygen of freedom to become choked off...

Humans are meant to be free. I believe that an evolution is just around the corner and the Cowards That Be know it. Those fucks want to retain their positions and control at any and all costs because they serve a master with evil intent. They will remain in command even if it kills you.

A more sane, benevolent group of leaders would not use this technology to create chains, but instead would use it to create wings for the people. This paradigm is destined to collapse under its own immense weight, and when it does [and I do believe that it soon will] I pray that the damage to this planet is not irreversible.

I want to survive the coming storm. I want to see technology used to uplift instead of oppress. I want to see high-speed trains and unlimited power, more opportunity and more options, more beauty in harmony with nature and more worlds opened up to humanity... I just hope that I have the privledge of being here when that day finally comes.
