Ok maybe after reading the article again, you weren't trying to be biased. You're still evasive to answer. Anyways here is my thoughts. Feel free to comment.
Good video. I hate when people think that the confederate flag is the same as a swastika. Originally that wasn't a racist symbol either though. I also like how you mentioned that slavery was an extra in the civil war. Good job!
Lovie2000, I think I misunderstood you, and the comments you had made. My apologies. I actually think we agree. Like I said below my main problem is with people making assumptions best on just seeing the flag displayed without knowing the person. I know we all past judgment on people, sometimes too quickly. I think I did this with you, and I do apologize.
Dear ItsMsMargie. I said I don't use the confederate flag 'cause of it's racial connotations, maybe that was too big of a word for you hun. I don't have any clothing with it on it, bumper stickers, NOTHING, why because some people are offended by it. You made a very similar post on Lovie's blog. I do not believe that the south shall raise again, or anything like that. All I'm stating is that not all people that use the confederate flag are in fact racist.
"like a middle-aged white man with a beer gut, spare tire lovehandles, pick-up truck complete with gun rack and Confederate flag decal who sits around bitching because everything started going downhill when women got the vote? And bitching now, cause Barrack Obama is the President? How much more real do you want me to be?" WTF are you talking about? I am none of the above... so what's your point? Racism is racism, my problem is that people assume that someone is a racist just cause of the flag. You want to get offended by someone displaying the flag it's not with the flag but the racial connotations you see it as. End what conversation I just now responded... maybe you were talking to yourself?
Video coming, it was a little long because I went into the history of the so-called confederate flag, so I cut that part out and will post that seperately later.
"Its a symbol of racism and hatred the GLBT community is well aware of this. You can psychologize this Confederate Flag into something else until your blue in the face, but it changes nothing.
Raise the damn Confederate Flag it did'nt work the first time when you had home court advantage, and it damn sure want work the second. ~Margerie Brubaker"
You're something else... Can you use some rhetoric i haven't seen you use some where else... or are you capable of thinking for yourself? Did you hear a word I said, or did you just look at the title and leave this asinine comment.
