If you read the description below the video you just posted as a rebuttal you will see tthis sentence: " (chocolate chip cookies don't supply their own oxygen though)!" Which indirectly implies that the experiment he did supplied it's own oxygen which bolsters MY argument and not yours. Fail.

I DON'T think Digg is a scumbag at all!

I do howeva agree that the well is NOT on fire, it does at sum points look like it is. I've listened 2 a lot off people about it, (& not just media or people in cahoots with a cover up). As sum1 else pointed out, there is a lot of lighting which r all slighlty diff color & laso the footage isn't very clear & i think what looks like 'fire' could be reflections. It is a big statement to make saying that the steel is melting & has holes in it when we can't really c wtf those 'holes' r, they could just b 'spots' on the pipe or sum kinda build up of any kind.
I do also think that Digg DOES believe full heatedly it is on fire & he's not just doing it 2 scare any1, more like trying 2 bring awareness 2 the issue.
Everyone is allowed & i think should b motivated 2 give their opinions.

You aren't debating this, ur just calling him a scumbag period, it sounds 2 me like u already thought so that & r just using this 2 help u put him down.
Is ur issue with him or this oil soill argument?????

I will admit that one other gas can be used to create fire. Fluorine. Of course there is no source of Fluorine at the bottom of the sea so that doesn't help your fictional story.

I'm sorry for the personal attack but I just get upset when I see people grab fiction from the internent and run with it especially when it can lead others to make bad choices. Fire cannot burn under water without a source of oxygen. Period. Even if there were oxygen to create the fire where would the heat come from to start it? You just ran with some bullshit and don't want to admit your shit is a lie. It's readily apparent that every excuse you come up with is predecated with "I saw such and such to prove what I'm saying but I didn't get video of that proof because of various excuses I'm making. " fire doesn't burn under water without oxygen or some oxidizing agent. It just can't happen.

The fire triangle or combustion triangle is a simple model for understanding the ingredients necessary for most fires.[1] It has been replaced in the fire fighting and protection industry partially by the fire tetrahedron (see below).

The triangle illustrates a fire requires three elements: heat, fuel, and an oxidizing agent (usually oxygen). The fire is prevented or extinguished by removing any one of them. A fire naturally occurs when the elements are combined in the right mixture.

Without sufficient heat, a fire cannot begin, and it cannot continue. Heat can be removed by the application of a substance which reduces the amount of heat available to the fire reaction. This is often water, which requires heat for phase change from water to steam. Introducing sufficient quantities and types of powder or gas in the flame reduces the amount of heat available for the fire reaction in the same manner. Scraping embers from a burning structure also removes the heat source. Turning off the electricity in an electrical fire removes the ignition source.
Without fuel, a fire will stop. Fuel can be removed naturally, as where the fire has consumed all the burnable fuel, or manually, by mechanically or chemically removing the fuel from the fire. Fuel separation is an important factor in wildland fire suppression, and is the basis for most major tactics, such as controlled burns. The fire stops because a lower concentration of fuel vapor in the flame leads to a decrease in energy release and a lower temperature. Removing the fuel thereby decreases the heat.
Without sufficient oxygen, a fire cannot begin, and it cannot continue. With a decreased oxygen concentration, the combustion process slows. In most cases, there is plenty of air left when the fire goes out so this is commonly not a major factor.

Obviously... you have never seen titanium on fire... underwater (Russian submariners have... well.. for a little while anyway.). OR how about a old fashioned wax fuse on a nice old M80? In the lake... never done that? Well well well... if not, you AIN'T NO REAL MAN! LULZ!
I know that you are referring to underwater welding probably which uses oxygen with fuel to create the "flame", in that case it's true... but NOT exclusive. There is something called an exothermic reaction, this is when elements, such as magnesium for example, ARE divided and the oxygen component is released and ENERGY is created (FIRE, in that case) and displaces water around it. (Water is H2O, BTW.. that O is for OXYGEN) But enough w the science lesson... Regarding the Fire in the water in the GULF.. I just DON'T KNOW... I hear there is methane underneath it... I know that this is the worst thing I have seen as a man made natural disaster... except maybe Chernobyl... Man.. I just don't know because I don't have first hand observation... none of us really do. FUCK... it's just Fucked all the way around...
