Just remember, this is just one dude's impression, ymmv. But if you're already a fan of the franchise you'll probably like it. I wish a game would come out for the PC that really would blow me away again, it's been too long.
Yo! Thanks for sharing that video Arg. I've never seen that before. I can understand the lure of the creativity of this. Unreal was my shit for a while and Mech Warrior, but I've been an RPG'r for the longest. MMORPG'S blew me away. I'm sure I've player more than I can list. HAD City of Heros, then found out about the subscription. LOVED Star Wars: Battleground, Lord of the Rings: Online was pretty good. Final Fantasy ONLINE made me blow my load, but it was with DSL was JUST coming out....so the experience sucked ass.
BUT GuildWars was my SHIT. I died off from it about 2 years ago.....but I may have to come back for THIS shit.
As for Minecraft, I DO still enjoy it, but, I don't so much like the idea of playing on someone else's server, and any and all projects I am working on being either erased or destroyed.
For the Most Part between World of Warcraft and my PS4, I am not playing much else, I am alright paying 14.99 for a game, I feel like I am enjoying enough, but as of late I have been moving away from PC to more Console.
Between playing a little C.O.D Ghost ever once in a while and Need for Speed Rivals, The only Game I am really looking forward to now is The Crew and MLB14.
Here's a good example, the crew I build with is called Fyre UK, this is one of our timelapse videos, one of my favorite builds, there are a lot, check them out on YouTube to see some of our other builds. I've been with them for about a two years or so... This is Red Rock City, watch it, you'll likely be impressed at what you can create in Minecraft with a crew of creative people. This is the exact OPPOSITE of the kind of thing PV and his friends do, which is just dig holes and live in caves. yawn.
Ok, so this one guy thinks GW2 is the shit, that's nice. I don't like MMORPGs, well, I used to like City of Heroes, that was fun when it was still active, it's dead now but, that was the only MMORPG I ever liked. I played the GW games and WoW and a few others and they all bored the piss out of me. It's all grind grind grind, no fun to be had if you ask me. The FPS world has gotten boring as hell now too, the last epic FPS was the original Modern Warfare, before that it was Unreal Tournament 2k3, Mech Warrior 2 (Clan Wars) and several others, but gaming in general has gotten dull for me. I've got quite a few "new" games but they don't really draw me in. I have the latest Assassin's Creed (Black Flag) and I haven't really played it much yet, so I can't fairly judge it but CoD Ghosts is abysmal compared to the older CoD games, it's just rehash with a crappier interface, more depressing and uninteresting maps and, well, bleh!
I still play Minecraft pretty much every day though, it's not for everybody, but for those who get into it, it becomes addicting as hell. It's a lot more fun with a group of people and Skype or Teamspeak going, the game doesn't blow your mind with graphics and sound, it just does what it does well and hooks you into it. I'm a builder, I like to create things, so for me, creative mode is where I have the most fun. I use it as a low rez art studio of sorts most of the time. Making shit like this...
Yeah, it doesn't look like some of the super high rez art in high end games, but then you didn't make that art, in Minecraft the challenge (at least for me) is to make something that looks cool with the limited set of tools and color palette available. Expansion packs make it more intense but most of them are for single player MC. That's unfortunate, it'd be nice to share that stuff. Oh well. But I can understand the game not being some people's cup of tea.
Yeah.....so umm.....FUCK Minecraft, lol.
WOOT!
