As a brief comment I would like to say that when Ken Watanabe (Katsumoto) was making this film he got the bad news he had cancer. He kept on working and getting his treatment and he had to accept the fact that he was gonna die, eventually!! His positive thinking and strength are the reasons why he stills alive today. Never give up, even if you can fail, never give up.
