This is a video response to my very good friend Jakluk4. She posted a youtube video on the topic of is rape justified. Talking about how we as a society excuse violence when convenient.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npfDa46-LP4

Rape is not justified, however a woman whom refuses to dress & behave modestly bears part of the responsibility. To be clear it is the responsibility of the parents to provide for their children they create. It IS NOT the responsibility of the state NOR any other organization. To expect otherwise demonstrates the greed and theft that is epidemic in society. To those that decide to leave hateful comments, do not expect a response. Bloomberg.com reported that JP Morgan is making huge profits off of the federal food stamp program. If you are on federal assistance willing or unwilling you are feeding the beast.

There are often times where both parties are responsible. And both parties need to learn a bit of discretion both in action & dress and that was my point.

It goes both ways.

Just if I was stupid enough to walk the streets of Oakland at midnight I did not cause a person to mug me, but I put myself in a situation that created that risk. I am responsible for putting myself in that situation, therefore indirectly responsible for the mugging.

NEGLIGENCE

The failure to use reasonable care. The doing of something which a reasonably prudent person would not do, or the failure to do something which a reasonably prudent person would do under like circumstances.

Please note I am not a lawyer and I am not qualified to give legal advice. This is personal opinion. If you need legal advice please contact a law professional.

@Katfellow : :))))))) the Anti-Rape towel, OMG!!!!!

@Callingforfreedom:

Do your arguments refer to women raping men as well????

IT MIGHT HAVE AVOIDED YOUR ATTENTION BUT WOMEN HAVE INSTINCTS TOO!!!!

If they sexually desire men and they have a difficult time controlling their hormones...... MEN are responsible.... it's their choice.... women can't help it, they have been sexually stimulated.... :))))

LET'S STOP THE NONSENSE AND EVERYONE BEHAVE MODESTLY AS TOLD, OTHERWISE WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT????? :)))))))

Another question:
Are you responsible for having been burgled too ????
After all you had a house to burgle so you tempted, no, no, no, you INDUCED the poor burglar, not too nice of you....

The lovely headgear you are wearing is really suitable for the subject! :)))))))) Braveheart......

@Timothy

LOL, I would not argue a bit. In the Old Testament the penalty of rape was death. That would cut down on the repeat offenders. It would also make society a safer place for women. And men would learn to control their hormones. But realize that Jak has a very strong belief in non-violence so even if rape was the crime, and she was on the jury she would have a very hard time to sentence the slime to death. It would be an extremely hard decision for her.

Also realize in the liberal atmosphere - old school opinions are not as popular. Thank you for your comment.

@cehbeach

My focus is clear. It is based on Responsibility and Restraint. I talked about it in the video as responsibility and discipline. In my humble opinion, the lack of both responsibility & restraint are primary contributing factors to the violation of the epidemic of rape.

I was clearly showing that these factors are not limited to just a single issue. I was showing it in in multiple situations because it is an epidemic in government and society. You stated:

"Quite frankly, you need to learn the lesson that some opinions shouldn't be expressed and are just best kept to yourself."

You are indicating yourself, YOU are against freedom of speech. I invite you to listen & comment, but realize there will be little agreement. The fact that you refused to address my questions on the correction system indicates that you are not interested in real solutions. And, like many Americans, you do not desire to take steps of correction and take personal responsibility and restraint. This is like the same people that want to push us into the socialistic state expecting the government will take care of you. If you expect the government to take care of you, you have not learned from history under such conditions that certain groups and speech will soon be banned. Or worse slaughtered such as Nazi Germany and the USSR. Keep in mind you were the one that addressed the issue of cruel and unusual punishment.

Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves.

Keep in mind Mob rule is horrific when you find out you stand against it. Imagine Bush Jr. with his fascist cronies as the tyrannical dictator. Thankfully, we will not have to deal with that horror.

@cehbeach

Whom are you to decide what is cruel and unusual punishment? It seems to me there was a whole lot less crime when pillory was used than today. It was definitely so when the death penalty was used on a common basis. Beatings are still considered an acceptable form of punishment in a number of parts of the world. Any sort of punishment that does not cause a noticeable change in crime rate is not really punishment at all. Do you really think that Martha Stewart or Madoff are being punished in their tax payer hotel? With the current incarceration system (aka corporate slavery), It does not seem to reduce the amount of crime. We are one of the top nations in the world for number of incarcerations.

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/23/us/23prison.html

But then again you have business taking over government functions at the cost to society. Freedom comes with Responsibility. Without Responsibility & Restraint, freedom dies.

Welcome to the current state of America. It is because of the idiots like at Ft. Hood, Mr. Stack, & Mr. Bedell that we as American citizens are loosing our freedoms. Many citizens have been protesting the government for fiscal restraint for years to not much avail. Because the population has been programmed to believe that freedom is an anything goes attitude without any sort of accountability this nation is on the edge of destruction. Anarchy is the worst form of "government" in the world, and people will beg to serve a tyrant to end it. Under a tyrannical government there is lots of persecution to the unpopular groups and little freedom except for the extremists that support those in power. Look at how Holder decided not to prosecute the two black panthers at the polling place clearly menacing as a threat to anyone that would cross their agenda. If it were two members of the KKK they would have gone through the harshest form of punishment allowed by law. If you incite someone to commit a violent act then you can be held criminally liable. Like it or not that is the law. To dress suggestively is to incite the desire for sex. To be clear I don't feel that there is no single magic bullet for any violent crime. The system is incredibly corrupt and complex.

"Democracy and socialism have nothing in common but one word, equality. But notice the difference: while democracy seeks equality in liberty, socialism seeks equality in restraint and servitude."
Alexis de Tocqueville

You have the choice - have liberty with self restraint, responsibility, & accountability

OR

Socialism under the restraint and control of the Government.

What sounds like more freedom to you?

Examine the anti-freedom socialistic policies of many of the European countries. You practically could not spit on the sidewalk in London without it being filmed on video tape.

Make no mistake the Federal Government would gladly choose the latter because an enslaved populous is more easily managed. If a society chooses to live without self restraint then there will come a time where they will be restrained against their will. Keep in mind that civil protests are now considered a low level act of terrorism. And anyone whom opposes the one party two headed beast that currently composes our government is now considered a potential terror threat. Socialism & Fascism only believe in freedom for those that are proven to strongly support their parties ideals.

This nation was founded as a democratic republic, but we have been brainwashed into accepting a corporate democracy. As others have stated a democracy is Mob Rule. The 51% takes away the right of the other 49%. The current socialized death care bill shows that conflict perfectly.

The founders of this nation were well aware of the problems of a Democracy and tried to write the original documents to prevent this from happening. As you see this government is now attempting to bypass those restrictions. Keep in mind Mob rule is horrific when you find out you stand agai

Re:cehbeach
Just for clarification I never mentioned the Burqa. Nor, Do I advocate the use of religious police. I too enjoy the appearance of a modestly dressed woman. There is a huge difference between dressing modestly and dressing like one is asking for sex. Please do not let your perceptions of the ultra-strict religious groups to taint your view of reality. Honestly, I feel the Burqa, and other similar protocols are often used as an instrument of bondage, and I weep for the women in that position. As MBD stated eloquently, there is a solution for men that cannot control their hormones. "Castration." But as I stated both parties are often responsible, to ignore that issue is not looking at the whole picture. It is my opinion that the real number of cases of true premeditated rape (forced sex) are very low compared to the numbers of actual rape (I am not talking about the reported cases of rape). In the heat of emotion, hormones, & alcohol/drugs, people will sometimes commit acts that in most cases they would never consider. The best solution is not put yourself in a dangerous situation. "Can I buy you a drink?" could be a road to a loving friendship or a road to the proverbial hell.

I can agree and disagree with you here.

Neither sex shows a general overall maturity about sexuality, but none deserves to have their body violated or their personal space invaded, especially if they're conscience and can verbally express their disdain for the situation. This includes but is not limited to assaults, muggings, robberies, home invasions, theft and/or verbal abuse. These actions are why harassment laws were introduced.

About men not being able to control themselves: Unless a man in mentally incapable of deciding what's wrong or right due to a birth defect/ mental disability/ chemical imbalance or head trauma from a blow to the head of some sort, there is NO REASON for any man to sexually assault anyone for sexual gratitude. Not being able to control ones hormones and acting on it is a sign of one's suppressed sexuality and forcing it upon another person, male or female should be dealt with by castration.
