Years ago when I first read about the intensifying of the magma deposits underneath Yellowstone, I thought "If we could just harness that energy, we could not only dissipate the problem, but produce several years worth of power generation in the process". Unfortunately, US no longer has the innovation to do any of what I would have liked to see. If this happens..maybe soon, or maybe 50 to 500 years from now, it will reface a HUGE chunk of the Midwest in a way that Mt. St Helen's couldn't do in a million years.
