An overdue post

So I guess this whold Digger thing has finally blown over, not that it was a deterrent for me to get on, rather I was just getting tired of Digger's over used arguments which amounted to pure nothing.

Digressions aside, I think now is a good time to pretty much update you guys on what's going on, seeing I'm still stuck in China for another week.

So, I made a small excursion to Hong Kong the other day. Finally a place where I can find a goddamn Starbucks, but the nearest one I found doesn't do a fucking White Chocolate Mocha.... grrr... Aside from that, I finally had something Western, even if it was brief... a mini Ham and Cheese wrap. Granted, good eats here in China, I am missing the Western stuff. I may even break my 3 month long moratorium on McDeath lunches and go for a Big Mac. Luckily, I won't, there's a BK in the airport, and a Popeye's too.

Anyways, going back into China the next day, I hopped a cab back to my friend's place, and was reminded after you haggle for the fare, this guy is gonna make it count... instead of running the meter, I said $50 RMB to my friend's place. Dude was speeding, weaving, and riding the horn all the way. It's rare that I praise the cabbing profession, as I do hate cabbies. This ride pretty much reinforces my dislike for cabbies.

Basketball has pretty much been a big thing here, as I'm seeing kids play B-ball on the playgounds and such. The NBA gets huge exposure here thanks to Yao Ming and Yi Jianlian, being the bigger Chinese stars in the NBA. Seeing the Chinese Basketball Association in action, it's like seeing the minor leagues, or if it were more like hockey, the Junior leagues. I see a few American players playing in the CBA, like many others who can't cut it in the NBA, and end up going elsewhere like Europe. The CBA product isn't bad, but it's not NBA calibre goods, so it's... interesting to put it nicely.

Anyways, I think I'm done here for now. Need to find a way to kill this week.
