Well....Not to sound shitty, just being honest -

The biggest problem is that MBD can't seem to find the time to discuss any of this with me and he doesn't seem to have a plan. Last discussion he and I had, he seemed convinced that i-tube and all its content will just flow over onto NING 3.0 like magic...I wish it really was that easy.
When this website disappears and all the content gets deleted, just remember I WANTED to save it - but this isn't my site, sooooo.....yeah. I have time to do something about all of this now, but after July 18th I won't be around much and whatever happens will just have to happen.

Shawny, do you mean Boonex Dolphin? If so, it requires a hosting provider that allows for video hosting for one thing and another, it's complicated to set up. I ran it for a while, it's nice software, maybe too complicated for the likes of Snatchez to navigate but a nice program for social networking with ALL the bells and whistles. However, it isn't really free, even a template is going to cost you something for that program. Seeing as how Lez doesn't even have the time to check a Ning site once a month, I don't see him having the time to properly set up a Dolphin site.

Ignoring the ignorant Snatchez from now on, the man is clearly a clueless fuck today.

I shut that thing down, as I said, it was worthless, I gave you all the link to it months ago when I tried to get you all to seriously consider this forced change to Ning 3.0 and nobody gave a shit, now you give a shit and it's too fucking late, boo hoo, deal with it. As for being constructive, I gave a link to an alternative social networking white label service called mixxt.de, or were you too ignorant to read that far? I also mentioned that there are tons of other alternatives to the Ning platform to choose from. But I wasn't talking to YOU because YOU are not the admin of this site, your ability to do anything is zero.

Your extensive experience is noted Mr. Snatchez. Oh wait, you have none, nevermind.

Ning 3.0 HAS NO VIDEO SECTION!!! Get that straight first off. They are talking about embedding videos in blogs, just like we can do with the blogs on the current site. There is NO video section, old videos will NOT be migrated regardless of what you read in a FAQ.

Ning 2.0 has CSS, do you see any of it in use here extensively except where Lez has incorporated the tons of annoying advertisements that we all block? No, the CSS is mostly useless. HTML 5 is a format that's not even ready yet, its functionality is limited and what you'll be able to do with it to make this site useful is exactly nothing. You have never seen the back end of a Ning 3.0 site so you have no clue how these things are even implemented, it's pathetic, worthless crap. You CAN do much MUCH more with a fucking Wordpress blog for $8 a month on your own hosting plan. But there ARE viable alternative white label sites, similar to Ning 2.0 available right now which we could migrate to and save these headaches. However, so long as we have users with no clue making their voices heard we'll be stuck with a crap site. So be it.

When this place goes Ning 3.0, don't say I didn't tell you it would suck balls.

Having used Ning 3.0, I question how you actually intend to replace the videos, Ning 3.0 is basically a blog, it has a photos section and a so called forum but at the core it's nothing but the blog we have here now and nothing more. You can, just as you do now, put a video into the blog, but that's it, there is no videos section in Ning 3.0. I am continually baffled by how many people have not even bothered to look at Ning 3.0 to base their ideas and opinions on it. It's really just the blog section, that's it, it is a worthless piece of fucking monkey crap. If you pay 5 cents for that shit you are a fucking MORON. You can find hundreds of MUCH BETTER white label sites out there to replace this site with that offer much much much much much more than Ning 3.0. It's a pathetic joke. I can't understand why anyone would even consider using it. Anyone with half a brain is going to steer clear of this garbage. Vloggerheads is so totally oblivious to the whole thing that they are actually trying to get their members to fork over $400+ for another year of this crap. (Yes, they actually emailed me and asked me to donate, can you fucking believe that shit?)

Just as a possible alternative, look at mixxt.de and see if you can make use of that as an alternative to Ning 3.0. I assure you, from personal experience running a 3.0 site for 6 months I am telling you, you will NOT like it. There IS NO VIDEO SECTION! Every "feature" that 2.0 has is ripped the fuck out except for the blog, photos and the horrible forums. We would literally be better off running this place on a proboards free forum.

What about downloading only the most popular content? Like the top 100 (+/-) viewed videos? Although some of those are old...and random. There is a kind of continuity to the whole history of this place. Not sure if picking and choosing would make any sense.

Not sure how long it would take to download all this stuff....probably enough stuff on here to fill up an entire hard drive. I agree with Diego to a certain extent. Would be sad to lose EVERYTHING. But....starting over fresh and clean sounds nice too. I dunno....gonna have to discuss with MBD. I was just kinda wanting to know how everyone else was feeling about it.
