My opinion is that a small portion is being hoarded by investors like you and I and the rest is in a stock pile somewhere The Federal Reserve HAS GOT TO have a supply somewhere.We have more gold now than ever but silver on the other hand is being consumed at a higher rate than were mining it .Scientist's Predict The first element that will be extinct is Silver.Watch silver prices maybe outdo gold!

To the best of my knowledge gold sits in piles in government holding facilities, like fort knox. The dollar is not actually worth anything, but gold is still a precious metal and shiny and purdy so its still got value. Remember in Die Hard 3 the bad guy was trying to loot the manhattan depository where a bunch of countries held their gold? Outside of government holdings, I'm sure there are plenty of companies sitting on their own stockpiles that people have foolishly sent them to be melted down for a scant few greenbacks(ie, cash for gold). Otherwise its just bought and sold in the jewlery market to make shit.

dont follow that stuff much. i follow the dollars standings more. yeah would like to know this myself.
