Police Raid on Family's Home and Organic Food

Jacqueline and John Stowers talk about their lives before and after a police raid of their home in LaGrange, Ohio on December 1st in an interview with the Buckeye Institute.

The Buckeye Institute is filing a law suit against the Ohio Department of Agriculture and other government agencies on behalf of the freedoms guaranteed the Stowers and all Ohioans by the state Constitution.

Unconscionable Police Raid on Family's Home and Organic Food Co-Op
Steps have been taken to start legal action against the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) and the Lorain County Health Department for violating the constitutional rights of John and Jacqueline Stowers of LaGrange, Ohio.

The Stowers operate an organic food cooperative called Manna Storehouse. ODA and Lorain County Health Department agents forcefully raided their home and seized the family's personal food supply, cell phones and personal computers.

On the morning of December 1, 2008, law enforcement officers forcefully entered the Stowers' residence without first announcing they were police or stating the purpose of the visit. With guns drawn, they swiftly and immediately moved to the upstairs of the home, where ten children were in the middle of a home-schooling lesson. Officers then moved Jacqueline Stowers and her children to their living room, where they were held for more than six hours.

There has never been a complaint filed against Manna Storehouse or the Stowers related to the quality or healthfulness of the food distributed through the co-op.

Comment by DVW on May 11, 2009 at 5:37pm: Outrage...their son is in Iraq , how disheartening is that to that soldier?Enjoy the lies.So many people are disinterested in this it makes me sick, its them who will not stand up, they are part of the problem.They refusse to accept that our govt is fucking us out of our rights.So even though they live within the confines of the law, they will also get this coming.But not before more shit happens, deaths ...ect.I blame the lawmakers, and the shills who go along , their apathy is party to this injustice.

Comment by Gary Smith on May 11, 2009 at 10:28am: the Codex Alimentarius becomes effective dec 31st 2009 -- this is a trade agreement bunch of corupted political controls on worldwide food avalibility --pushing the GM seeds and fresh table foods onto all ..though many science pro's has for years screamed about the untested effects these foods could manifest in our bodies...Codex Alimentarius will make vitaimain and minerail a crime --and I do have the research studies on the declians of nutrional value in our vegtables over the last 50 years that have dropped below half sence the use of pesticieds and chemicail furtilizers in the 50's ..yet even this info is way out dated from 1999 -pre chemtrail ,,, I Rember when you went inside a store ya just had to sniff the air to locate the fresh produce department ,,,When all grapes had seeds inside,,---these GM's are takeing over the wild fruits and I personaly think these GM's are causeing many ills inside all biolife that consumes them..even if you struggle to keep GM free garden it is almost impossabe from wild pollenators vist flowers from both feilds and bring the cross contanination into the organic gardens - Cows on these supergrowrth injections now have half the lifespan they had when I was a kid growing up farming ..where I milked a average 1 or 2 gallon from our jersy --even those holsteins only gave about 3 gal. per day max -lives often of 25 yrs --now maby 7 max and the poor things carry 8 gal in pain daily from these super drugs they are FORCED to use in dairy now --We got big problems from the profits at all cost mentalities useing political pressures behind closed doors --- we have no vioce in trade agreements ,,this has been the take over of all resorces worldwide --through trade agreements --gardens will be outlawed , Only GMO's allowed -all meats will be growth horrimon injected or CLONES !!! --power out of control sucks ...
