it's for the basic human need for interaction with our compatriots and opponents. you see.. humans are a social animal my friend... not a solitary... which is why we fall apart without the interaction.. I can tell you from experience... after about a week of not talking to anyone... not even yourself.. the second you attempt to speak.. all of a sudden.. the thing that you have done for decades.. speaking and interacting with other that is... seems almost alien, you will have difficulty formulating sentences... or sometimes... saying.. hello. Yhe reason we use the internet is to have that interaction... with none of the dangers of real life interaction(which is another issue to be dealt with individually) .. and to be completely honest. I .. in my own experience.. am socially awkward.. and I imagine.. NO... I believe.. that this is more common than many will admit. Having said that.. the internet can be a healthy and therapeutic tool to forward ones capability to interact with their fellow human. and in a fashon.. practice.. for in person... or through written correspondence.. through videos.. what ever it takes. You see.. our society has become a over abundance of strangers.. and alone in a crowd types.. this is a fact... if you doubt this... attempt to strike a conversation other than the weather with anyone... in line with you ... at the market... or even worse.. in a aisle at the market... or parking lot.. and observe as 90% run in fear from your simple kind words such as.. hello! how are you? and the ever fateful.. what is your name?. They scurry away... afraid... and as lonely and socially withdrawn as the person who tries to make innocent and courteous contact. this is why.. the internet is so very necessary for many.. and we are so lucky to have it... this is my take.. it is a very direct one.. as I am a direct person. please share this missive with your group. You will find that I have only scratched the surface and the layers are very, very deep.. and not only sociologically and psychologically but generational in nature as well. Many many facets... but I wil say in my opinion... if used cautiously and responsibly... the pros out weigh the cons... in a infinite measure.. that is beyond further discussion in regard to help vs. harm. if used in the prior mentioned capacity. Responsibly.. cautiously.. and in some cases a means to a end. you still need the physical interaction. The virtual will not fully complete your need s as a social animal... you need the physical part.. as much as the mental , but mental seems to come first in creating a physical relationship does it not? Therefore... tell the people this.. look up virtual post traumatic stress disorder therapy. - and that's all I'm going to say on the subject... use all or nothing of this missive as you wish. And be well! Positivity or negativity in your approach in all things, breeds a world that you will live in! Take care!
