So... this trip has got me doing things which I don't normally do things, and that's what pretty much got me started on this part of the blog. Normally I log in, do my thing, and that's it, that's for one. Secondly, it gives me the opportunity to watch movies, which I would never, EVER watch on TV, rent or see in the theatres.
Case in point, on the plane, I broke down and watched 'Twilight'. Aside from thinking Alice Cullen was cute, the whole premise of the story was pure fucking tripe. We've all know the lore about Vampires, and such, from movies, books, and television. While Twilight does talk about the Vampire feeding on blood part, the "sunlight" shunning premise is utterly bullshit.
I can see why Tweens are swooning over this pile of pungent crap, as the main "Edward Cullen" is considered dreamy and the romance behind being courted by a Vampire may be out of a shitty adult romance novel. It's like seeing Mr. Garisson from South Park writing a romance novel, it's ALL FUCKING WRONG! That and the reports of tweens threatening others who make their vocal critiques to them with physical harm doesn't help their case.
Alas I will quote a friend who also saw this movie:
"generously gives it 1/5 on account of the cameras working and the "actors" standing upright while making sounds with their mouths."
Oh... and the other thing... while working out at the hotel, I found the first english speaking movie I could find on the tube, and it turned out to be the last 30 mins of the 'Crying Game', where the guy finds out that the she is really a he... NOOOOOOOOO!! My workout ended with me with my face being burried in my hands seeing that part. Not that I have a problem with homosexuality, I have gay friends, I just don't care for a penis being that close to my face like it happened in the movie, nor in any movie I care to watch.
